Seniors are among the most disconnected segments of our population. According to Pew Research Center, 41 percent of seniors don’t use the Internet at all; an astounding 23 percent don’t even use cell phones. As part of Older Americans Month, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and partners hosted a webinar series to highlight resources to help get seniors online. On May 28, the FCC hosted a webinar, “Get into the Act … Online!” to help highlight resources relevant to addressing the digital literacy and Internet adoption needs of seniors. Contributing to the webinar were the FCC, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, the San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services, and EveryoneOn.
