Anisa Abeytia believes that digital inclusion is democracy in action and is an arena where more equitable societies can be envisioned. Her interest as an instructor include security and privacy and designing curriculum. She uses storytelling to create conversations around digital security, privacy rights and digital literacy to make the topics accessible to some of the most marginalized populations.

Anisa is a researcher interested in digital bordering, digital equity and the role of integration policy in workforce and higher education inclusion of refugee populations in online and offline environments. Anisa served as the Senior Digital Inclusion Project Lead for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in San Diego, CA. She is an Innovation Fellow with the UNHCR, where she is designing digital equity programs and research in Africa.
