Rimona Eskayo
Digital Skills Instructor

Rimona (Mo) Eskayo (they/them) is a Portland-raised artist and educator who believes in the power and imagination of youth.

Rimona has organized and facilitated artist residencies and all-ages arts programming across the rural-urban divide. After developing a community-centered artist fellowship program in rural central California, they’ve gone on to teach art and design students at universities including USC and Iowa State. They’ve also worked in more commercial settings as a graphic designer, copywriter and creative director. During the school year, they work across the city with Portland’s K-12 students. Outside of the public school classroom, they lead artist talks and workshops for teens and adults across Portland and the West Coast at community spaces and institutions including Sexual/Gender Minority Youth Resource Center, Independent Publishing Resource Center, SWANA Rose Cultural and Community Center, Portland State University, Sonoma County Library and Whitman College. In 2022, they wrote, designed and published their first book, an illustrated guide to accessing trans healthcare.

As an educator, Rimona learns from their students just as much (sometimes more!) as they teach. They encourage collaboration, question-asking, mistake-making and hitting save a few extra times for good measure.
