Matthew Peel
Program Operations Coordinator
Matt joined Everyone On with 14 years of experience in the digital inclusion space with an emphasis in education, programs and operations. He began as an instructor teaching digital skills and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for nonprofit organizations and universities both abroad and in the United States. Most recently, he worked as the digital equity manager for Evergreen Goodwill in Seattle, Washington where he coordinated projects to provide access to digital devices, free or affordable internet and digital skills classes to under-resourced communities.
In 2022, Matt served as the organization’s project manager for the statewide Digital Navigator Grant awarded by the Washington State Broadband Office. His efforts managing the hiring and training of a team of digital navigators, overseeing a digital resources public telephone hotline, and operationalizing the deployment of hotspots and laptops resulted in thousands of people receiving free devices, digital skills classes and assistance to sign-up for the Affordable Connectivity Program. Additionally, Matt was instrumental in the design and rollout of two digital equity buses that served as mobile classrooms to provide digital skills classes and resource workshops to rural and tribal communities.
Matt was born in the Philippines and grew up along the gulf coast of Texas. He has also lived in Delaware, Virginia, New Orleans, Thailand, Australia, Washington and California. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont. He is also a certified Pilates and group fitness instructor, an avid traveler and an animal lover. In addition to tinkering with spreadsheets and tech devices, he enjoys hiking, camping, trying new cuisines and salsa dancing.
