Oscar Magaña

For over 18 years, Oscar has committed himself to advancing educational opportunities in low-income communities. During that time, he’s worked at Los Angeles Unified School District, The Accelerated School, Youth Policy Institute and most recently at Think Together. Over the last 12 years, he has been a leader in his community, the southeast Los Angeles area. He served as an elected city council member in the City of Maywood for four years and spent two years as the city’s mayor. As mayor, he made tough but responsible decisions that helped pull the city from the brink of financial ruin and into financial stability. Oscar served on the Board of Directors at Hub Cities Southeast Los Angeles, America's Job Center of California, for over ten years.

Oscar brings knowledge, leadership and experience within education and public service to EveryoneOn. His work as a public servant and educator has enabled him to become proficient in: developing a values-based culture, meeting outcomes through data-driven achievement, human resources management, consistently meeting participant outcomes, relationship building with local community stakeholders and partners, fundraising in political and community-based efforts, effective fiscal management of private and grant based resources, and team-based professional development of all participants.
